•||• When you have everything except a door

[ Life in the tower might not be the most eventful thing ever, but the young woman living at the top of the structure had plenty of things to be grateful for. She was safe, loved, taken care of (mostly), and had plenty of hobbies to keep her busy, even if she did find herself revisiting some of them several times a day.

Really, though, when every day is predictable, one has nothing but time to become particularly efficient at their skills and chores. It was only mid-morning, maybe ten when Rapunzel had finished brushing out her hair. Outside the sky was bright, lit up with the twinkling of hundreds of tiny stars. Down below the flowers in the valley were blossoming in a colorful array amidst a field of green washed in a blue hue, fireflies blinking in and out between them. Only the occasional gray of rock or brown of exposed dirt disrupted the vivid colors. A strong gust was blowing through the forest beyond, maybe heralding some incoming storm, but for now the skies were clear and the sounds of the gust stirring up nature all around left the air cool and pleasant and filled the blonde inside with a sense of excitement.

"It almost feels like something big is coming, doesn't it, Pascal?"

She'd asked her companion, moving about the tower earlier. Now the two reclined by the window, Rapunzel thinking about how good it would feel to have the wind moving through her hair. Without thinking twice she tossed it out the window to let the wind catch. It was as close as she dared to stepping outside the tower, resting on the sill of the window, gazing out and up, and dreaming about what it might be like to be able to see the entire sky, instead of just this one small section of it.

Letting out a soft sigh, she cast a little smile down and over to the chameleon sitting on her shoulder. ]

One day, Pascal... One day.
